Sam Hubbard

Rev. Sam Hubbard is a storyteller, pastor, and community organizer with a heart for those hurt, overlooked, or left behind by traditional religious spaces. He serves as the movement leader for Just Love – Greater New Orleans, a movement committed to loving neighbors, body, mind, and soul, through micro-churches, community hubs, and justice-centered partnerships throughout the city. Rooted in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Sam brings a theology shaped by grace, curiosity, and the firm belief that love is best expressed in action. He’s passionate about interfaith collaboration and creating spaces where the wounded and wondering alike can experience healing and wholeness. Sam lives in Central City, New Orleans, with his fiancée, Morgan, their blended crew of two (grown) kids, two dogs, and a cat who pretends to be in charge. When they’re not wrangling the zoo, they love meeting new people, exploring new places, and finding joy wherever they can. For more information about Sam’s work go to www.justloveneworleans.org

Tim Anzan Mussche

Anzan is the name Tim received from Roshi Joan Halifax upon initiation as a Bodhisattva in the Prajna Mountain Buddhist Order. Anzan means ‘peaceful mountain’.

The mountains overwhelm us with their enormous size. It is their greatness that touches us, allowing us to rest in trust for a moment. This allows us to briefly feel the peace that is present deep within all of us. Tim completed his training as a (Buddhist) chaplain at Upaya Zen Center. Roshi Joan Halifax ordained him as a chaplain-lay priest in the Prajna Mountain Buddhist order in 2024.

Over the past twenty years Tim has supervised countless rites of passage for individuals and groups, supported by trajectories in various traditions, such as Buddhism and shamanism. Additionally, Tim is a Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) in the Netherlands (by RING-GV) and in the US (by the Spiritual Care Association), as well as an Advanced Practice Board-Certified Chaplain in Hospice and Palliative Care (APBCC-HPC).  Tim holds the equivalent of an MDiv-degree, is a grief and bereavement counselor, and an ethical referent. Tim has served in prisons, residential care centers, hospitals, hospices, and shelters for the unhoused. Tim works as a celebrant, as a grief and bereavement counselor, as a death doula, and as a (palliative care) chaplain. For more information about Tim’s work go to www.anzan.be
